A little about Otter...
Otter Ideas offers guidance for businesses from 0-5 years old by sharing our experience of running a business. Our main methods of communication for our stories and information are through our "In the Otter World" blog and business podcasts so that we can help as many businesses as possible. We also offer individual consultations over the phone or in person.
A little about the CEO...
I earned my Honours B.A. from McMaster University and a post-graduate certificate in website design from Seneca College. Following that, I worked in a variety of different jobs that provided me with great learning experiences but also showed me that I was an entrepreneur at heart. With some courage, a solid idea, a lot of hard work and experimentation, Platypi Designs Inc. was born.
Since starting Platypi in 2002, I have grown as a person and as an entrepreneur. My business has gone through many stages, all of which were challenging, exciting and extremely rewarding.
On a personal note, I have run 2 full marathons, have endured the pain of getting tattoos twice, and you may have seen me perform with the Flying Dance Company in a group salsa dance routine! I was honoured to be recognized with a Top 40 Under 40 Award by The Guelph Mercury, and received nominations for the YMCA/YWCA of Guelph Women of Distinction two years in a row in the Business, Labour, The Professions and Entrepreneur category. As well I am known by both friends and colleagues to bake a delicious chocolate chip cookie!
